FAQs

Tour Tickets

Do I have to purchase tickets in advance? Can I pay cash?
Tickets must be purchased in advance, and Dallas tours often sell out quickly. Please book in advance so you can get the day, time, and number of tickets that best suit your needs. Tickets can be purchased with a Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Apple pay or Discover via the Food Tours of America website or by calling (214) 272-2327. Cash is not accepted for ticket purchases.
What is your cancellation policy?
All sales are final. Tickets are non-refundable and cannot be exchanged or rescheduled, as they guarantee your spot on the tour. Please note that we cannot provide partial refunds for no shows, late arrivals or early departure which results in missed tastings. Our Dallas tours begin promptly.
If a food tour is sold out, is there a waiting list?

We visit a variety of excellent local eateries with sit-down tastings whenever possible. The exact tour route and specific restaurants may vary from tour to tour and are subject to change at any time. Feel free to contact us at 214-272-2327 for more details.
Do you accommodate guests with food allergies and strict dietary requests such as vegetarian, vegan, gluten friendly, etc.?
This tour is a foodie adventure with pre-selected food tastings. If you have a food allergy or strict dietary restriction, we are usually able to accommodate most requests subject to partner restaurants capability and with advance notice. Please note, guests with dietary requests may have a significantly different tasting experience. Please always check directly with your restaurant server for question regarding particular ingredients in a food tasting.
Are there any beverages offered on the tours?
Yes, we provide water at every stop on the tour and you may purchase alcoholic drinks from your guide during the tour.
Do we only walk around and sample food?
Food Tours of America is complete sightseeing experience. While you are enjoying generous restaurant tastings, our welcoming guides are fully narrating your tour, bringing local culture to life. There are multiple tour types available with varying levels of tour narration, history and culture. The Uptown & West Village Foodie Walk features, when available, a ride on the antique MckInney Avenue Trolley. The varying age and design of the trolley cars can create accessibility challenges for those with special mobility needs. Please call us if you have any questions or concerns at 214-272-2327. The JFK Food & Culture Tour is a 3 hour tour which features the area’s only historic and architectural JFK walking tour. Our Deep Ellum Taste of Texas Tour is a 3 hour tour featuring entertaining commentary and photo opportunities in front of the area’s colorful murals.

Logistics

Do the tours start and end at the same place?
The Uptown’s West Village Foodie Walk tour begins and ends near the West Village Shopping District. The JFK Food & Culture Tour begins at the Old Red Museum in downtown Dallas and finishes in nearby Uptown Dallas. Our Deep Ellum Taste of Texas Tour ends less than a block from the starting location.
How long do the tours last?
Our tours are 2.5 to 3 hours long. If you are under a time constraint, please let your guide know at the beginning of the tour.
When is the best time to take the tour?
If you are visiting from out of town, we highly recommend taking our Dallas tours at the beginning of your visit to allow plenty of time to revisit your favorite restaurants and local attractions.
Is there free parking nearby?
For the Uptown’s West Village Foodie Walk, free self-parking is available. For the JFK Food & Culture Tour, the Old Red Museum has an underground garage, which has some spaces open to the public. Also available are open lots, other garages, and metered curbs. We do not recommend metered parking because of the tour’s length; you will not be able to keep the meter paid. The open lots typically have the lowest prices. For the Deep Ellum Taste of Texas Tour, there are many open lots in the area, and some restaurants offer free parking. You will receive detailed parking instructions after purchasing your tickets.
